Thread: Female/Woman/Girl Traders here...

Hello -
Glad to find this thread -- I am in New Zealand, and as that sign in name implies (I am a US citizen, ex pat (not 'sex' pat!) -- living to count.

I am only now re-entering some modest investing / trading after a decade and of having nothing to do with this, so I am quite open and NEW. The trading community is obviously rather guy intensive (and sexist, actually, which is a small surprise in how juvenile some of the men are, however -- perhaps I am just older now also? Not complaining; I like men, but frankly the first time I've ever hunted out firm that is female-specific. I was raised with elderly brothers, never got on as well with women as with men, have had guy friends who are really comfortable with me and wonder why their girl friends were not as sensible as I am, etc.. You probably know the same story, hmm? Maybe I met my co-chick community. Would not that be a excellent occasion that is smacking. Ok, that's way more than enough for a first post.

So, first purpose would be to narrow in on what's my area. With this timezone scenario in upsidedownunderland -- daytrading may prove ironic if not body clock crazy, but forex ... how is that going? I have some time and interest to spend every day, but want to concentrate on a best egy. In the past I have just done (rather competitive) industry mutual fund investing (which worked out roughly to 30 percent pa over 4 decades approximately (and helped buy a house in So. Cal), and then had some real success and after that real trouble once the broker and (ex! Now) husband got enthused and overextended us on margin (crap!) On gold and silver, gold coins and bullion. So, I am on a clean slate new account with ThinkOrSwim, if anybody is on that platform, I would be pleased to share hints and ... whatever ends up.
