Thread: How much does the schedule really influence the effectiveness of your operations?

  1. #1
Lately I have been analyzing my results and noticed something curious: the operations I open during the London and New York sessions tend to be more successful than those I try at dead times. Is it chance or is there a real technical explanation behind this?

I've read a lot about the importance of volatility according to session, but I wonder if it's really worth "fighting" at a specific schedule. Isn't it better to find low volatility patterns as well?

Obviously, if you operate in sessions where there is no liquidity, it's like trying to run a marathon in a swamp.

In fact, I've been reviewing my statistics and 80% of my losses are during the Asian session. I'm thinking about stopping operating on that schedule directly.

If you see the opportunity and your system is solid, come in.

It is one thing to see opportunities and another is to force operations in markets that are barely moving. Let us not confuse hunger with the desire to eat.

I only operate in London opening. The rest is wasting time and neurons.

One strategy I have tried is to open operations only during the first two hours of the London session and the first two in New York. It improves the risk/benefit ratio and suffers much less.

Sure, and if it rains you also close the MT4, right? The one who knows how to operate, does it at any time.

Everyone speaks from their experience. I prefer to respect my maximum volatility schedules, not because it is superstitious, but because statistically, that is where my setups behave best.
