Thread: Why do I always lose when I change the S.L.'s place?

Hello everyone, I have been operating for a while and something happens to me that already seems like a cosmic joke to me. Every time I move the stop loss to give room to the price... bam!, the market touches it and then goes right where I expected. If I dont move it, its saved by little. Does anyone else get this or does the market spy on me?

It happens to all beginners: you sabotage yourself. The stop is to protect, not to be dragged away every time you doubt. If you cannot respect your own rules, how do you expect the market to do it?

You're not alone. We all went through that stage. It's psychological: fear makes you think moving the stop saves you, but it's actually what ends up killing your account. Discipline, brother. Without that you don't get anywhere.

Typical. When you change the stop, youre basically saying I have no idea what Im doing, I just react with fear. And the market smells fear like a shark smells blood. Stop doing it now.

The SL is not an ornament. If you put it, it is because you calculated it logically. If you then move it, you are operating with emotions. And so you will never be profitable. Learn to lose with elegance and you will win with consistency.

Hahaha! I laughed hard because yes, it seems that every time we move it, the market knows it. But no, its not black magic, its a lack of structure. If you move the stop its because you dont trust your analysis. Theres the problem.

If you know your strategy has an average drawdown of X pips, then you should trust that. If you change the stop as you go, you don't even know what you expect from the trade.

And why do you put it in such a weak place that you are tempted to move it? Theres the glitch. Learn to locate smart stops, behind relevant levels, not at random or by intuition.

Until I understood that trading is not about being right, but about running well. Let the SL run, get you out when they owe. Its part of the game. Better a small loss than an emotional ruin.

The SL moves only in one direction: towards profit. If you are expanding it, you are digging your grave with a very nice shovel. I recommend that you use mental stops only if you have experience. If not, leave it steady and respect it.
