Nobody thought that Gold and Silver will probably be replaced by Paper. Until it happened.
Then nobody thought that this Paper money won't be backed by anything(suported by goverments and used internaly for market) - specifically Gold. Until it happened.

Banks and businesses around the globe are already quite curious about the blockchain technology. -
If businesses will use blockchain - how will thridparty crypto benefit out of that?
Who knows. Theoretically Banks and Governments just need to create their own Crypto and make the mining and swap propriatary.
- Banks regulated by goverments they just can do what they say. Central bank can create their own crypto and qualified bank to utilize it.
In the end, it is people who choose what they want to take as currency.
In the end There's law - in state of where You are u have to use federal curency as the main payment method(I believe in many areas on earth)

Yes. But you can't go into the Supermarket and cover with Gold and Silver. Back in the times you'd Gold and Silver coins and they were accepted as payment.

Not really. I can decide if I would like to sell services or products . Nobody pushes me to sell or do anything for $. I am able to accept as payment what I would like.
