And thinking that MetaQuotes could have fixed this years ago... but of course, they prefer everyone to migrate to MT5.
I've come to the point where I just want to import a CSV without looking like I'm hacking NASA.
Then MT4 is not for you. MT4 is like a safe: you have to know the exact trick to open it.
Try opening the CSV with LibreOffice instead of Excel. It sometimes saves the cleanest format compatible with MT4.
Another trick: make sure the file is encoded in ANSI. UTF-8 sometimes generates invisible symbols that MT4 does not recognize.
I turned it to ANSI and removed headlines. This time it seems like it worked... thank you all!
At last! Sometimes the problem was just a misplaced character. Thats MT4, pure mystery and trial-error.
I congratulate you for not giving up. Many get frustrated and abandon. Here you learn with sticks.
Now save that CSV as a template and don't touch it again. That file is pure gold if you managed to make it work.
And for those who arrive later: read all the thread before asking! Everything is here.
