Thread: How to detect the end of a trend?

  1. #11
Hey, just happen to pass and I feel the compulsion to present my take not knowing if its a wise move or not on my part. Anyhow. . What I think you wanted to know is actually not the conclusion of the trend but the conclusion of any upmove or downmove. But before I attempt to answer that question, the question I have for you is what and how do you trade without understanding the conclusion of any upmove and downmove?? How can anyone trade with real money without this fundamental knowledge and comprehension...
How are you going to learn if somebody is telling you the right or wrong things or when anyone has tell you anything that you wished to know for this matter ?

I will return to answer you when I see there's a need to....

Lets agree you cannot know the end of a trend by searching a 1 hr charts . So you need to go out to greater time frames and determine where there's likely support or resistance as they're a good place to anticipate the end of a trend

Each timeframe has its own tendency ...

Very true. In my view, the good old fashioned chart analysis using trend lines, serial highs and lows does a much better job of finding trends, retracements and reversals.

You're completely right using conservative ways however by hand (not by computer) , to consider more to collect experience for the future.

I just want to ask , how can I detect the end of a upwards/downwards trend? Any indior or proposal ? Thanks all in advance
let me save you some heartache. The closest you will ever come to grabbing all the pips is by simply investing the greater time frame.asin seeing a setup on greater time frame for instance on each chart and holding it to its conclusion.if that you believe that you can ch all of the pips on the time frames then you're confused.

My advice would be to look at Elliot Wave Analysis and use Fibs to discover the duration of the wave to provide an estimate as to what the price might reach, of course take this with a pinch of salt!

In my opinion the best sign is the older school high and low arrangement, supported by the response on trendlines on the daily chart.

Easy. In summary, it is when down tendency stopped making lower lows, and if a up trend stopped making higher highs.
