Thread: Simple trading method

    Hi,

Hi Everybody. I'm a firm believer in the KISS (keep it simple stupid ;--RRB- principle.

Along those lines, I have been working on a stop and reverse egy that using a single moving average about the 10 minute chart during ce. Last month I had pretty good results with it (as can be seen from the picture below.

The rules are observed from the picture. Allow me to know what you believe. Also, does anybody know of a platform (other then Tradestation because I do not have $5,000 to start an account) with the capacity to alert me according to an indior's position. As an instance, as you can see below, one of the rules to start a trade is the moving average fluctuations directions by 5 pips. My egy often triggers when I'm asleep. It would wake me up in my computer may beep really loudly and I would place the trade.

Thank you all for your wonderfull work! I like FF.

P.S.. In the picture lines are cropped short they read:

Change of direction is defined as a retracement in almost any direction 5 pips
Trade is triggered whenever there's a change of management within a particular time.

You would trade multiples of 3 contracts (3 or 6 or 9, etc.. .)

The first contract exits after 50 pip target hit...

The second contract after 100 pip target hit...

The third after a REVERSAL signal issued.... This is FTP implements departing the last contract but of course this may be modified.

Stoploss on all 3 contracts is 50 pips, so if you quit at 50 you would really have a 150 pip loss if no contracts struck.

The magic of the system would be to double the contracts that took a loss on your previous trade. For instance, let us say you exchange the 1st hits along with 3 contracts but there's 100 pip swing against you. You gained 50 and lost 100 on the other two. The next transaction, you would trade 5 contracts (1 X 2 first the 2nd contract, and 1 X 2 for the 3rd contract)

You keep doubling your losing contracts till you've got a trade at which there are 3 winners (50, 100, and REVERSAL) ... At which point your first contract dimensions will return to their original levels (the number of contracts made in your first transaction)

The consequence of this: the winner usually constitutes all previous losers.

If you have developed a system that isn't losing over 4 or 5 times in a row then this system could behave like Nitris Oxide to your pip totals. Common sense tells you that drawdown will mount up after a few losses in a row, which means that your first trades should be little when compared with your own capital.

Sharing of this cash management egy would be for eduional purposes and complete particulars of the machine can be found in http://www.forextrendpointer.com.

    Thank you.

Is that the only system you use? If not, are there any other KISS method you could share with us?

Thanks and I appreciate your posting

    Hey Dialist,

I Am sorry, CE does Not mean Something. I meant to say through a particular moment. I was, as usual typing .

While that seems nice on paper, unless someone can reccommend some platform which will wake me up to exchange, it will sadly remain ... on paper untill I can save $5000 to exchange on Tradestation. :--LRB-

    Regards,

Thanks Agent! Yeah, my fingers and brain get out of sync!

I've got an MQL indior for MetaTrader that someone else wrote for me that makes a noise once the indior crosses a specific degree. I know of two metatrader developers with this forum that might chime in here to help out you. I wont say they are 'cause I don't know one of these well, and the other desires to maintain their anonymity. Search for a metaquotes forum for a start. Or, you can do what I am doing and get started learning how to program metatrader yourself! It is not that hard! (at least that's what I keep telling myself )

Well, yes and no. Basically what happened was, I began DEMO trading and that I had probably 5-8 indiors on the display at any 1 time. I'd trade 5-15 minute charts. There is a saying, A person who has a watch knows what time it is. If he has two, he can not be convinced (or something similar to that :--RRB-. I had 5-8 watches.

Anyhow, after blowing several Demo accounts, I chose to start from scratch and learn what made each indior tick. See what could happen is, every time a losing day, I'd have, I'd adjust my technique. The difficulty was, correcting my egy every day with 8 INDICATORS meant I didn't find the large image (in my opinion). So I began with just the moving average and Parabolic Sars And I hunted upwards of a month's worth of data and asked my self how did this indior work?

You have already seen my decision about investing in the moving average (although I wish I could back examine it ... Tradestation is my dream).

Attached is a shorter term egy I came up to get the Parabolic SARS about the 5 minute chart. It does not seem to be as robust as the moving average one, but it may trigger a thought in someone's mind. The basic idea is that the SARS seems 50% dependable through the New York session untill just about 11 am or 12 am determined by which SAR you utilize (see spreadsheet). The wins, up to now, are greater then the reduction. I have hope from the moving average one since it feels like it would be simple to automate. Tradestation should do automated Forex in the first quarter a year ago ( or so I am advised by there sales rep .... For what ever that's worth).

    Well so long.

The 5 pips reversal from the MA is what defines a shift in direction (i.e. long or short). What activates the transaction is when the 5 pip reversal occurs DURING A SPECIFIC TIME PERIOD rather then a specific amount of time.

Maybe my photos will illue what I mean.

Incidentally, after posting and saying the day illued would have netted a loss, I realized I had selected the wrong picture. The picture I picked was actually of a 25 period simple MA and actually resulted in a gain for the afternoon of 39 pips (spread already taken out)
