What will happen?

I figure more Americans would consider spending their holiday in Europe.

I might be missing something here, but the eur /usd was 1.000 and lower, 0.8220,from 1999, until the start of 2003. (8220 was it's lowest point)

No you are not missing something.
Actually if find the question a bid strange also.
There is nothing special about a pair reaching parity.

Maybe the OP meant GBP/USD?

The Germans will Require over Europe. No seriously... french people will start to burst. Being at parity using an American is just... ugh. . !

Didn't quite reach true parity. It only must like 1.03 or even 1.05 thereabouts. Even then there was rioting in some British cities. The eighties, wow what a couple of years.

Anyway, if GU ever hits real parity (or below), it'll be similar to 2012 around again with aclysm and blood in the streets and all kinds of horrible nasty things like that. Knickers the world over will become bunched to a monstrous huge wad.
