Thread: Journal of a trader without indicators

  1. #1
Hello everyone, I open this journal to document my operation completely free of indicators. Only price action, market structures and risk management. I am tired of depending on lines of colors that always arrive late. I do not promise constant profitability yet, but I do maximum discipline.

Operation #1 Sale in EUR/USD at 1.0855 after breaking support on H1 and retesting failed. SL at 1.0875, TP at 1.0810. Management 1:2. Closed in BE after lateral movement without force. I will no longer force this area.

I know many will say that without RSI or MACD you are blind, but for me the indicators only decorate what is already in the price. Im learning to read candles as if they were words. It costs, but I feel like Im moving on more like this.

Operation #2 Purchased in GBP/USD at 1,2718 after breaking range of 3 days. SL at 1,2670, TP at 1,2802. Closed at 1,2780 by emotional decision after bass sailing at M15. Error, you should have followed the plan. To correct: do not intervene in the middle of the game.

Many have asked me why I do not use at least one EMA. My answer is simple: if the trend is not seen by eye, the problem is not the lack of lines, it is the lack of criteria. I prefer to be wrong by myself rather than to be right by an automatic alert.

Operation #3 Sale in USD/JPY in 149.85 after false break of Asian maximum and clear rejection in sail of 5 minutes. SL in 150.20, TP in 149.00. Closed manually in 149.40 for fear of reverse. Result: +45 pips. Emotional management still under construction.

The silence in this thread is revealing. Is it that no one is interested in an approach without colors and magic formulas? Or perhaps it is easier to keep waiting for the "perfect signal" of an oscillator. In the meantime, I move on.

Operation #4 EUR/USD again. Entry at 1.0792 after rebound in liquidity zone identified with high wick candles. SL adjusted to 1.0810. Closed in TP at 1.0745. Finally an operation executed according to plan, without emotional interventions. So yes.

I didn't operate today. I saw three possible setups but none of them complied with my entry rules. I would have thrown myself out of anxiety before. I turned off the platform today and went for a walk. Sometimes the best operation is to do nothing.

I am surprised how difficult it is to maintain discipline without indicators that "encourage" you. By operating only with PA, all responsibility falls on your shoulders. There are no excuses, only good or bad decisions. Brutal, but real.
