Normally its ok to scalp with any broker, however what non ECN brokers don't enjoy is a fast market (a spike) movement which everybody jumps onto for the ride. This is because the market moves so quickly, they can not cover themselves with opposit positionsleaving them open to big losses.

Don't overlook that yes, they make their money on a spread, but they nearly always are either matching your position contrary to another trader or they hedge their bets by trading against you. That why some people fear stop losses because in theory (and practice so I've read) a dishonest broker could set just a tiny spike on the market just to hit your SL and therefore make money with no risk at all.

I was very disheartened when I found out about those practices, but now I understand what to look for and how to decide on a good broker. In terms of scalping, it depends on the platform you use quickly the market is moveing. Sometimes you will observe the interface freeze up, if you use MT4. Well, other than online connection issues, thats what they're currently doing, preventing people from jumping on the band wagon.

    Hope this helps.

When I could only add something to what you typed. A lot of men and women claim that the broker adds spikes to prevent hunt their orders. Nevertheless, most if not all of those traders enable their positions to operate for without 300-500 pips, and the broker at all can control the ask price, however they can't move spreads (under normal conditions) 300-500 pips to allow you to stop out. Traders like to deflect and blame everyone and everything but themselves to the reason.
People talk about the broker taking transactions against them, etc.... But if you were a broker would not you do exactly the same thing being that 95% of the traders fail? If a broker does it, the truth is you as trader allow the brokers to even do this, and the price goes contrary to you has nothing to do with the broker, but with what you think that the market is going to do.

You do know that you're talking to somebody who hasn't been on the forum for nearly 7 decades, right?

Scalping isn't its kind of trading, door. You simply have to find what suits you best. Scalping is of course not for everybody, it demands a lot of time on discipline, speedy online connection and display. I know somebody who scalp futures indexes and continues to be a successful trader for last 6 decades. He trades using half a million dollar account.
