Thread: Indicators or none?

I am curious to learn how a lot of people out there commerce with no indiors. I'm sure a thread has been started earlier, but I doubt they asked that utilizes NO indiors to trade with.

Personally I only use trend/support/resistance lines, and every time I try to use an indior I find that it clutters my charts too much. I've also found that when I chart an indior I rely on it too much (almost completely).

I don't think either perspective will provide the best results in gambling.

Indiors can't be used only as trading signals, if they can everybody would use them and be more wealthy. In the event you said you can't rely on indiors you can't rely on support/resistance lines because the point is they are supposed to be broken.

Trading without a indiors and only preceding support/resistance and price action doesn't let you be aware of the economics of what is happening in the market. You never get to find a similar statistic for overbought or oversold a market is to get a particular time period. I could see somebody who deals without a indiors being confused by a price shooting through a bottom support line on a trade because they were unaware the market had been overbought for some time.

I think that it should be a healthy mix of the two, especially because the 20, 50, and 200MA's are usually strong points of support and resistance.

Is it honest to utilize 1 Simple moving average, but not as an indior but rather on how I manage transactions entry?

No indiors (for transaction entry decisions)

Horizontal Support and Resistance only... across various time frames.

I consider my SMA a trend statement in my entry time frame,

if my commerce entry differs from the trend... I scalp it for fast, fast profits.
If my commerce entry is in tune with the trend... I try to hold longer.

I used to exchange using Stoch along with RSI's using a fair level of success...

After a couple of novels about chart patterns, today I am relying only in price action and also my T/S/R lines.

What would you need indiors for?

I did not say which perspective was better, I just simply wanted to know just how many people on these forums utilize them. I stated what I used as a statement, and wasn't supposed to start a debate.

Oh I did not mean to spark a discussion, I was only commenting on both sides because I take the middle. I apologize if it seemed like I was attempting to start one!

I have found that price action in and of itself is your best timing mechanism you can find since it reflects real time trader sentiment.

That said any price action sign or pattern needs context I discover that indiors like moving averages, and one oscillator allows you to filter out the price sign and improve your batting average.

Finally evaluation of multiple time frames no matter which time period you actually enter and manage your trades on, helps supply a wide context of where your particular method lies in the grand scheme...

Even Steve Nison (the widely held expert on price action trading) stated unequivocally that price action alone shouldn't be the basis for trading decisions, but instead a single tool in an otherwise larger tool box.

    Indiors is used by me.

IMHO, not using an indior is like refusing to use a car to go to work. Of course you may get to your destination. A car is simply more technically innovative.

Everybody can still achieve to attain their destination by any means. The difference between a car and an indior is that learning to drive a car has physical experience process and an organized eduional.

I have been at this game for 10 years, and I haven't seen anyone teach how to use an indior correctly and at very fine-details. Whatever you have read in books, forums, networking, in conferences, etc, are extremely basic.

It is like telling you that; here is your steering wheel, turn left and right where you would like to go. Measure the accelerator to move and step to stop. Now you're all set to push , off you go on a busy highway. This can be as eduion you're going to become about indiors.
