Thread: Favorite pairs. Why? How many?

  1. #1
Lately I've been trading roughly 7 pairs. That is simply to much for me, I thought I could handle them but I can't, so that I thought of moving down to 4 pairs.

    My pick:
    1. EURUSD
    2. USDJPY
    3. EURCHF
    4. USDCAD

Imo the very important element for choosing those pairs is their loose significance.

I believe that at the long run, loose correlation between the pairs you is trading is the most important variable (related to pairs picking ).

This is open for debate so please folks share your pairs knowledge.

    Have a nice weekend everybody!

    I'm planning to do some digging on the net over the weekend to get an article I read associated with real return-on-investment-dollar in regard to trading the GBPUSD pair verses the EURUSD pair. In a nut shell this is the simple premise/thought the author was attempting to put accross;

Some brokers, have a 2nd underlying element in the GBP disperse that if the author compared them on his trading platorm, was able to see the actual pip price and though the GBPUSD failed, as all of us know, have a higher daily range in most cases than the EURUSD, that the actual price of the pip value made the GBP, in practical terms, a more expensive trade than the EURUSD.

Anyone remember that article? If I find it I'm planning to save it to my PC.

    Hi Thom,

did not find the Report? I also had the theory which gbpusd has more slippage than eurusd in most brokers during news releases.

I trade with Each currency pair that my broker offers, all 19 of These:

    GBP/CHF, USD/CAD, AUD/JPY, GBP/JPY, EUR/CAD, EUR/USD, GBP/USD, USD/JPY, EUR/JPY, CHF/JPY, EUR/GBP, AUD/NZD, EUR/AUD, AUD/CAD,
    NZD/USD, EUR/CHF, AUD/USD, NZD/JPY, and last but no least USD/CHF.

Why? Since the pairs I trade, the greater trading opportunities I get.

I believe for newbie, like me, it's ideal to exchange with EUR/USD, significantly less volatile. .

Then gradually move to GBP/UDD. . .then .... As many pairs as the eyes can follow..lol

for me....just GBP/USD for the time being. It's advisable for me to learn to adapt and perfect my technique one pair at a time....For newbie, not to leap into the hype, you will receive burn..by trading many pairs at one time. .
