Thread: In A Trading Dilemma

    Can u imagine?

I just started trading for my company LIVE.

I had been on demo for 4months and at the conclusion of the period of time, had a long run of very successful trades.

Now only began with the live account and in two weeks, have experienced very bad entries, resulting in rather poor results. A 5,000usd account has gone down to about 3,027usd!!!

I NEED HELP! In knowing the best times to enter a transaction.

I'm used to trading really well with the news, but now live account looks just to negate all my motions.

Is there a difference between price actions in live an ddemo accounts?

Pls remarks and advise are valued.
    Thank you.

The major difference is emotions. They're a bugger and they'll remain an obstruction, for certain if you have any type of pressure to create x % in x amount of time. Another possible hinderance is the risk that this cash is too precious for you to adopt the risk involved with using it to exchange, meaning placing it towards something that you haven't drawn out a porbabilistic perspective of feasible outcome or you just can't afford to lose it regardless. If you have a probability model according to your history in the demonion it must make things less stressful knowing that wins and losses aren't evenly dispersed but also understanding that 1 from x transactions has a greater likelihood of being a true winner with a likelihood of x benefit and a series of losses might be accompanied by a series of wins. This should all be accounted for. Sit an test your system based on performance and produce some figures.

    Hope it helps,
    Bob.

Bob is correct about the emotions and cash.

I feel I have to cultivate my account to whatever size I exchange at.

If I adhere 10 grand in there today, I will always be taking a look at the cash, and will commerce scared.

If I grow it to 10 grand, I will not be scared by that moment. The way wills expand on, the trades will be the win/loss quantities, in addition to larger. I learn to discount the $$ to a gradient scale as I go.

I believe that is the only way for me personally.

And at the exact same time, the amount that I risk is in line with my skill level. I blew a $250 account, a account, my account drew down to and is coming straight up! I'm making it, but am still clawing for every pip. In another year it will be more easy, and this account will soon be at 5 - 10K.

5K isn't much money...I don't think you've realized the scope of trading below emotional attachement for your equity just yet.

    However, welcome to Foreign Exchange!

As you've sustained a 40% drawdown in a short period of time, I would say that you've got serious problems related to money management, which you need to take care of first.

Second, I'd encourage you to stop trading for a few days, disengage markets in order to return fresh with another frame of mind.

I don't mean to irritate you, but you seem to be having a loosing frame of mind right now.

Finally, I would like to wish you best of luck and a successful continuation on your Foreign Exchange endeavor.
