Thread: What was your "Holy Grail"?

I am currently a student at the university and I am trying to balance both the studies and the retention of as much information as possible to improve my trading. It has been one of the most difficult challenges that I have assumed, but also of the most revealing, so I decided to move on and not give up.I think that dedicating time to studying the currency market has two main objectives: 1. Identify each variable to be a better trader. It sounds very general, I know, but in anything in life, don't you think you should understand the rules before throwing yourself fully?A simple example: if someone who has never touched a basketball ball asks you to teach everything to know before tomorrow's tests, do you think he will manage to enter the team? No, or from afar. You only learn through experience.2. Understand your personal psychological attributes.Keeping emotions under control is key.If you don't have a trading plan, emotions, such as fear and greed, will devour you.Every time you make a decision without analytical trial, you will be running big risks. What factors made you a profitable trader? If you are not yet, something has to change.

I hope you have not left your studies.Trading is complicated and, to do it well, you need to be very capitalized.Having a title will open many doors, both for financial and intellectual capital. If you ever want to attract investors, the education and experience of the real world will help you a lot.Right now, your "best operation" is how you invest your time. The big traders are those that handle all areas of their life well, not just the market. If I was your age, I would focus on learning mathematics, business and programming.I would insist on getting an internship in finance, closeing myself as much as possible to the world of trading.

The Holy Grail is not to find a magical strategy.I have met traders to use a simple strategy, but the key is consistency.Having confidence in your system is fundamental.True magic is how you handle your psychology and discipline. The "Holy Grail" is in yourself.

Sometimes, two traders can use the same system, but only one gets good results. It is because each one has a different personality and that influences how they operate. The key is to understand how you handle emotions and if you can follow the rules of your system constantly.

Try an SMA 21/5 in 4 -hour GBP/USD graphics.Make backtest of the last 3 years, I guarantee that it gives good results.I assure you that it works!

I agree with what they say.Trust in your system is what keeps you in the game.I also lost several times until I understood that the key is to accept the losses and move on without breaking the rules of my strategy.

Have you heard the phrase "Plan your operation and operate your plan"?It is simple but powerful. If you have a plan and follow it, you will avoid impulsive decisions. The Holy Grail is not a magical system, it is consistency and self -control.

For me, what made the difference was to stop looking for magical indicators and complicated systems. In the end, it is more about maintaining discipline and accepting that you will not always win.Use real money from the beginning so that emotions are real too.

Quoting oh yes, the key is to maintain a system and operate with little risk. When I started, I thought this was to get rich quickly ... but of course, the market gave me a reality slap.

It is not always a matter of waiting for an operation to go well on its own.Sometimes it is better to adjust the size of the position depending on the trust you have in the operation. Each trader has its style, and finding it is only possible with experience in real accounts.
