I had been day trading past week, when I discovered all three of my trades suddenly went south for several min. According to the commentary I use, a rumor had been started an undercover missle had hit on a US Naval vessel. Lucky for me, the rumor was refuted, my trades completed later.
But this event raises for me the following questions: What occurs to trades when real disasters arise? Just how far have trades drawn down previously during a true US, or even other country's emergency?
Was anybody out there trading on 9/11/01? Katrina? Tsunami? Start of all riots in Paris? Terrorism in London? Did your trades regain if so? Or did you lose all of you $$
Did anyone decide to immediately escape from a trade due to a disaster? In that case, did you have difficulty shutting out with broker?
Thank you for any input.
