Thread: MT4 file opening technical question.

  1. #1
I have managed to open and download files and several ex and tpl's. However, today I'm attempting to open and download my own first zip file, the RainbowMMA.zip to be precise.

There is absolutely no problem downloading it on my computer, but once I have dragged and dropped it into pro, custom indiors like I usually doit takes it okay, but seems to discard it. After closing and reopening, once I search for it 'habit indiors' (where I'd expect to find it), it is not there and neither can I find it anywhere else on my computer!??

It might appear that a zip file needs handling differently. Can anybody please advise what I am doing wrong to opening the document 17, and direct me? It would be much appreciated.

Do you extract the contents of this .zip file or simply put it to /EXPERTS/INDICATORS directory?

I believe everything should work fine if you pull on the contents and put them into proper directory

    Hope it will help

EDIT: Do not forget to restart metatrader once files are copied to directory.

Hi Dexis..... I place it into /EXPERTS/INDICATORS directory, as I don't understand how to extract the contents of this .zip file. If you could please advise how to do this, I would really appreciate it. Yes, I have been restarting. Thank you for your help.

    Hi Jonny,

if you are using WinXP or sth. Funky like Vista you ought to have the ability to extract a zip's contents from picking some unzip option and double-clicking on the document. If your Windows doesn't have this built-in zipDecompressor don't hesitate to download and install the openSource program 7Zip out of
    http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/s...2.exe?download
After installing 7Zip you ought to have the ability to open the zip file. In the zip you need to come across mq4 or an ex4 or both, then proceed as usual.

    Take good care.

Send another person the zip and have them connect the indiors and return it back to you. . .go this course.

    Great Luck
