Hmm, I didnt state the issue also ocurred on my job PCs and my coworkers were experiencing the same . And since I did contract work, I had been moving from company to company. Therefore hundreds of computers affected I knew of. Thats just one person's experience. Its not difficult to extrapolate this to millions. Even the security was crap. Allowing people the same priviledge to executable files regarding information proved to be a hackers dream that is wet.

The appropriate way to fix software would be to fix appliions and sometimes that involves shedding the old and starting over.

One of the main advantages of the Depth of Market attribute is the provision of pertinent information about liquidity requirements. Additionally, the ability to look at orders available on the market will be of note for consumers. Updates to the MT5 variant will be helpful for brokers given the ease with which it can be assimilated into websites and appliions.

MetaQuotes stops selling MT4 platform licenses</b>

PLATFORMS JANUARY 12, 2018 -- BY VALENTINA KIRILOVA

Forex trading platform developer MetaQuotes just declared that it's ceased selling MetaTrader 4 platform licenses to new customers.

The MetaTrader 4 trading platform was released more than 12 decades back. Its structure was created under the constraints of that time, because of that it is no longer feasible to execute new features that meet the increased requirements including brokers' and traders' requirements.

MetaQuotes stopped the growth of MetaTrader 4 in ancient 2015. Now the developer decided to stop the sales of the software, and it has ceased selling MetaTrader 4 platform licenses to new customers. However, MetaTrader 4 brokers are going to have the ability to order additional White Label terminals and get comprehensive technical assistance. MetaQuotes will even keep releasing bug fixes and security updates for the stated platform.

Additional functions and improvements will only be put into place in MetaTrader 5. The new-generation platform is based on modern architecture and completely supports various functions from the old version (like hedging and reports on positions). MetaTrader 5 is a high-performance scalable platform that supports performance on markets, including Forex, CFDs, stocks, stocks, stocks and cryptocurrencies. A large-scale infrastructure comprising of third party solutions has formed around MetaTrader 5. Tech businesses, for example Fortex, Gold-i, oneZero, PrimeXM and Tools For Brokers amongst others, have adapted their products to MetaTrader 5 and provide various solutions to assist brokers with migrating to the new platform.

What is new in MetaTrader 5

    12 January 2018
    https://www.metatrader5.com/en/relea.../terminal/1745

MetaTrader 5 construct 1745 is going to be the last platform variation encouraging Microsoft Windows XP/2003/Vista.

A few months ago, we announced end of support for older versions of operating systems. Windows 2003, Windows Vista and especially Microsoft Windows XP are obsolete operating systems. Microsoft ended support for Windows XP three years ago, because potential hardware capacities could no more be realized on this system as a result of technical limitations.
MetaTrader 5 construct 1745 and old versions will continue to work on the above operating systems, but may no longer receive updates. Platform installers won't run on these operating systems.

The minimum required operating system model for conducting MetaTrader 5 is Windows 7. But, we strongly advise using the 64-bit variant of Windows 10.

Issues on mt5 on windows 7 have become ridiculous - it is a pure lottery in case mt5 (or the metaeditor for mq5) will start or not over windows 7

MT4 will be a time round, in fact it's not possible that it will be replaced by MT5 shortly as long as it's such a crap. I see MetaQuote's statement as good news *for MT4 as it forces all the inexpensive bucket stores interested in a quick buck from business. The existing license holders will be pleased about the news (guarantied no new competition, MetaQuotes should still enjoy communism ) and their businesses will consolidate. Now that can only be helpful for the broker landscape in addition to for MT4 and its reputation.

There is only one way for MT5 to replace MT4: Should MetaQuotes publicly decides to commit suicide, in which situation MT4 really will cease to exist. I doubt they're that dumb although they have been dumb enough to ride a dead horse for 8 years. I merely guess they continue selling new permits under the desk, in secret, to get an extra bonus. They increased prices for new MT4 permits, today MT5 permits are only a fraction of their MT4 counterpart. Nobody wants to ride a dead horse. Except...

Nick, I know you as a above average experienced user. Why * you want 10, would you tell us? Is it - as I know - why you prefer OOP over design? As for me I concentrate in automation and MT5 has ever been a no-go as it does not feature a usable trainee. Without testing automation is doomed from the start. MT5 might be an alternative for trading. However there's nothing new compared MT4. Instead MetaQuotes place plenty of eggs imho , blatantly. And that's the reason behind the zero demand from brokers and retail customers. MQ anticipated them to be stupid. So the failed MT5 project is a consequence of arrogance. They already prooved they could do much better.

Now - like Mladen notes - there's another significant matter. MT5 is unstable and buggy compared to MT4 ever was. Another no-go for all kind.
