Unfortunately news trading is not what it used to be almost 10 years ago. Back then a few brokers were filling the orders . Now the slippage could be huuuuge and there's absolutely absolutely no way to know your. Most central banks have 0 interest rates and the price is not reacting after the majority of the news releases. NFP is not able to transfer the price susbstantially. To trade news releases is nearer to gambling. Use choices if you do it.

YES, Sir, these are problems and best dealt with by trading with brokers who can FILL,

YET - HERE is exactly the reason to get ONE MARKET MAKER PURE market maker broker,

Because they usually always fill, any moment, market orders are greatest.

It is in their best interest that you LOSE. Thus, any trade you choose, unless you are piling bricks that they will fill in approximately 10 - 20 pips.

If cable moves 200 PIPS on a fantastic news day, you then lose 50 on the fill you still made 150 PIPs.

I apologize for not updating here now live, but have done so on my other thread, mainly because my main concern was the FOMC would have an effect on gold.

For anyone who is interested my posts are here from before and after the announcement.

Being that it's almost 2014 news may have adverse reactions because of

    1. Reduced volume
    2. Massive caps pushing the market around
    3. Certain facets being priced to the market - again as individuals position for depart 2013 and entry 2014.

Good summary. Otherwise the slippage, it will be off quote (no fill). Been there done that.
Also advice from this thread revealed that some brokers won't cover you to your profit because trades were held too short. Respectable brokers may differ.
