Thread: Is it true Volume doesnt mean anything in Forex?

    I've heard one person say this before and I heard Steve Nison state the exact same thing, that volume in FX is unworthy and volume should only be used in buying not for selling.

    So that having been said, is volume (ie the standard volume indior in metatrader for example) any usage to our trading?gt;

    Tick volume from MT4 could be a wonderful measure of market activity, but it cannot be utilized as real volume is employed in stock markets such as.

    Volume may be used in counter tendency egy...

    Say you have 3-5 pubs in one direction with rising volume at each, soon it will peak and next bar will less volume, if you mix this with STO CCI WPR any one among these together with divergence you can successfully scalp against the mirco trend...

    Volume is rather useless in Forex trading, because the quantity you see is brokerage specific. You only find the trading volume of the current broker, and therefore you will not see quantity of the entire market, making volume indior quite useless.

    I believe everyone is speaking about market thickness. Volume is similar to a dimension of your position size. If you want to use this information for trading, just what are the measuring? The ticks as a single member stated. That is helpful for picking a pair to exchange for a quick scalp, so perhaps someone has an indior which monitors the ticks on most of pairs and indies that the Most Active ticker. Search for something . .

    Actually, online brokers rarely provide any inner volume details. The volume information shown in MetaTrader 4 volume indior is tick volume, not broker's inner volume.

    Absolutely not. There is no real volume in MT4. According to my post #2 and also by enivid, the volume provided in MT4 is a simple tick counter.

    Absolutely. My point wasn't that it's useless ... just that it isn't volume.

    NP - you and I are both on the same page. I was only showing one way in which the tick quantity can be used
