Zen is just on of the feeds that Ninja uses also it belongs to Mirus. This brokerage is one of their most significant partners, but Ninja is an independent company.
Zen has developed some type of a new back-end and it appears that the new integration didn't go as easy as anticipated.
NinjaTrader and Mirus (ZenFire) are closely linked spouses. Among other items, NinjaTrader provides support for Mirus clients in their forum and NinjaTrader needed to test and accept that the software release until it went live.
Failed to go as smooth as anticipated?! That's an understatement. It turned out to be a tragedy due to their traders who can not get a connection that is reliable! Apparently by Jan 5th the situation may be resolved! Traders will not trust them. The last time Mirus said it was resolved they n't told the truth.Originally Posted by ;
ZenFire's original email forcing traders to close their trades and upgrade their appliions says there were several rumours about which aren't correct. Not sure what the rumours are the edued opinion appears to be that ZenFire relied on a company called Rithmic who suddenly terminated their contract. ZenFire (Mirus) then scrambled around for one more spouse and published a half baked version of their appliions since they knew they had no Rithmic feed after Dec 31st. And Mirus is trying to introduce the new appliions an improvement instead of admitting the truth - that it was a cobbled solution that before the older version ceased working on Dec 31st, they were made to release in panic.
What consumers are especially upset about is all the cloak and dagger. Mirus wasn't straight together from the start, did not acknowledge problems if they developed, did not apologise until it was demanded of them and is not speaking with clients (they even put their phone answerphone). This is in addition to the software release.
I would suggest readers here remember the Mirus and ZenFire manufacturers and avoid dealing with them as long as there are alternates.
We have no disagreement about the way it influenced traders. However they might have tested their appliions when of the problems come up, and when you've got a migration this is. Whether Zen is qualified for a tech firm, only time will tell.Originally Posted by ;
As for Rithmic, it offers direct connectivity to many platforms directly, including Ninja. It seems that it is finished the relationship to market bigtick and not the other way round.
We have no debate about NinjaTrader either. As you say, it is an unaffiliated company. NinjaTrader's duty is the charting software and they provide support for it in their own forums and on the phone.Originally Posted by ;
Having said that, NinjaTrader are shielding Mirus in the negative publicity and, intentionally or unintentionally, covering up the extent of the issues at Mirus/Zenfire. That they're near spouses makes me suspect the cover up is deliberate. To NinjaTrader: This ai not cool (and it is damaging your brand).
You may be right about Mirus being the instigator in the conclusion of the Rithmic partnership. The reports I have heard revolve round Rithmic giving Zen/Mirus the boot because of their participation with BigTick, a competitor product.
The issues, BTW, still continue and Mirus/Zenfire is still treating customers like mushrooms - keeping them in the dark and feeding them sh*t. For having a link, the revised date was Jan 5th. Now is the most recent line and the 6th is that it'll be fixed in the coming days!! Buffoons!
I have read a lot of opinions on forums daily because I am doing my due diligence.
Regrettably I came across forums which for the most part they are Zen/Ninja/Mirus biased despite the fact that Zen is dysfunctional.
If anyone is interested, I discovered that about Ninja and Rithmic: http://www.tradelogically.com/questi...-with-rithmic/ where many appear to be contented with the guide rithmic solution. In all honesty, I think implement the API directly and it's best to get a guy like me to understand a programming.
Probably in each trader's best 10 nightmares, has this improved much since the thread started? I'm trying to find a new trading platform and NinjaTrader was on the account listing.

Nope, no progress. In reality, it's going backwards. It's been several days since I've been able to trade and I've been kept hanging. It'll be fixed tomorrow, It'll be fixed by Monday, the 5th of Jan'll fixs It, it is going to be fixed within the next few days. Bloody ZenFire!
And now it looks like it won't be repaired whatsoever as Mirus has sent clients an email stating they could change you to a different system if you would like. When? Probably in the next few days (because their telephone lines are busy and they are not responding to mails).
NinjaTrader itself is nice and I would recommend the platform, however, the issue is that you then have to choose a data supplier, an execution engine, a broker and an FCM. And it is more complex than that. Data providers have different plans and the prices vary significantly based on all sorts of factors including what tools you need data on (Some provide some restricted free data - such as Kinetick's free End of Day data. Many don't offer bonds, don't offer European instruments such as the FTSE, don't offer commodities. You have to understand what exchanges you need before you register). Brokers (depending on the FCM they're routing you through) vary widely in the deposit they need, the net value of these people they are eager to take on, the commissions they charge, the minimal number of contracts you need to trade each month ....
Select a data supplier initially and you'll discover that various brokers and implementation engines won't function with it. Choose a broker initially and you will find that you reside in the nation or you aren't rich enough. Combinations and the choices are complex and fruing. If you choose a broker first you might discover that the available data providers for that broker don't give you prices on the instrument you need or have a massive price for the data or don't offer an implementation engine which operates with NinjaTrader.
I wish there was one page which explained everything in easy English and made it simple to choose! I really don't understand the half of it.
When moving from MetaTrader to one of the proper charting platforms such as TradeStation, Multicharts and NinjaTrader, this is the one thing nobody tells you - it is a lot, lot more complex than it looks and there are many parties involved that if things go wrong they could blame each other while you are sitting at home twiddling your thumbs unable to trade.
I hear a lot of talk about Meta Trader not being this and not being however I have been trading for 8 years and have never. . .never.... had a problem with this Platform. One Harmonics Trader (will not call no names) who is constantly trashing Meta Trader has not submitted a video in a while. Hum I wonder why ? He's paying big bucks for NinjaTrader...
