Thread: Oanda vs FOREX.com vs any other broker for US clients

Trading with Forex.com means sleeping with one eye open. . .in my experience, they hunted down my stop losses that a grotesque number of times....they would have these CRAZY spikes out of nowhere, spreads would widen past the normal threshold as compared to ANY other broker I have ever known...I called them out on it so many times it is not even amusing. I would NEVER go back to Forex.com or any GAIN capital related firm...I think that it's a pity that Manchester City FC would lend their name into this broker...

That is similar to my experience together back in 2010, but figured out now they could be different.

FXCM would search SL too and that I have a folder of screenshots recording it on the tick charts (which I adored about Trading Station). I think they.

I'm fairly sure GAIN was the sole broker to create a profit on the Franc Peg break and the reason behind that is that they trade so greatly against their clientele. FXCM did not have the hedge that GAIN had and went under. My opinion is that FXCM began trading contrary to their clients and learned their lesson, then got in trouble because of this. Ironic that the actual criminal is GAIN while the 3's ethical was prohibited.

Anyhow, I'm left with two evils from which to choose. It appears one is as good as another. I chatted with the reps from each broker and neither had any idea why they should be chosen by me.

From what I have read about forex.com, I am staying away, however I want to hear others' viewpoints. I am looking at trying MT5 on AMP stocks (just futures broker I know of that provides free metatrader).
What did you see about forex.com? The oanda thread is huge!

As for the other broker among the listing....not looking too hot, Daniel Skowronski is yet another Oanda CEO resigning in under two months:

I wonder why everyone is bailing from Oanda in such a stampede. I think they have the record on the BBB.

I called FOREX.com to ask several questions, one of them being why my entry order did not perform following the price passed it. The error was verified by the guy, but couldn't explain it. He said it's very infrequent, but these things happen and I have the option. I asked what the odds were that this could happen on my first trade. He said he did not have enough data to compute the odds.

    Fantastic morning everyone.

I had been one that had my account changed by FXCM to Forex.com, I discovered that the bid/ask prices on the charts do NOT match what's seen in the Marketwatch window.

I placed a tiny long trade and it executed at the marketwatch price and shut in the marketwatch price. However, if desire your charts to coincide with the marketwatch then you're out of luck.

I figure I will now have to open an account with Oanda because I prefer to have charts that match with the marketwatch prices.

Obviously, should you exchange on longer time frame charts this might not be a variable, but if you trade on 15m or less I believe that you will see a noticeable gap in the charts.

    Good luck to all.
