Thread: Broker Misrepresentation?

Oanda's site displays 7 day historical spreads. In accore with their historical spread diagram they display AUD/CHF NZD/CHF as with current spreads at 1.4 pips for both. But in my trading platform, the spreads show 5.8 and 5.6, respectively. This has been the situation for at least half an hour. The screenshots attached were taken within seconds of each other.

I also notice they display/advertise 0.9 to get EUR/USD. It is seldom that low anymore. I'd estimate that EUR/USD averages in 1.2 or above.

Have you asked Oanda relating to this discrepancy?

Have a look at the timestamps of the recent spread website (hover over chart). The website is atleast 10 hours postponed, its not realtime.

Yes, I talked with them and they couldn't explain why it was revealing 1.4 spread when those two pairs were NEVER in 1.4 at any point. Not last week this week. I looked through my screen shots and display recorder and never once saw 1.4 anything near that. Apparently, it's errorneous. Whether it's deliberate or not I don't know.

It is supposed to signify the current spread and spread history going back 7 days. There isn't a 10 hour delay. The time stamp atop of my attachment reads 00:00, as in Midnight on 08/22. This was about the time the screen shots were taken by me. When I contacted them what I did at first was ask their agent exactly what the distribute and current spread is for AUD/CHF NZD/CHF? He responded with 1.4 and said I will check myself on the page and supplied the link. Then I told him/her it wasn't currently 1.4 in my platform. They said they'd look into fixing it, but had no more info on it.

I also have noticed discrepancies for the two pairs. Both have 10 pip weekend spreads from the spread statistics webpage but reveal 16-18 pips spread on fxtrade. It occurred last weekend. I don't think that it's deliberate - should be a bug as both pairs were just newly introduced.
