Thread: FXCMs quotAT BESTquot For News

  1. #1
I would like to find poeple's opinions from those that have tried the AT BEST option on News Trades.
In case you've used it, what news occasion did you utilize it on, and was your fill as expected or beyond view. I havent used it yet, but since they upgraded their software starting August, it has been hard to get fills...

Please do share your experience. .

    Thanks Beforehand,

The upgrade was intended to disable news traders.
From this, you understand its useless to trade news with FXCM. Hell, my order entered supposedly filled 90 seconds before news, was filled just 3 minutes after the news. Go figure. FXCM simply dont like news trading because they can't trade .

If you put lip stck onto a pig, then it's still a pig.

At Best is still only a market order, which by definition is at best accessible market.

90 sec is fairly long... What's their argumentation on this?

I know they might not have the ability to fill you at the price THEY need 2-3 seconds in front of a news release. But 90 sec before?

For the matter of the topic, At best option is that a pure scam. They now that your order is not sent into the market but they will glady fill you at 200 pips and take your money even if your money never actually left your account...

AT BEST == slide me with no mercy

    So, easy.

I am testing FXCM on the news spike that the last 3 months (I have spare autoclicks and my orders have been rejected with a few of the following error messages:

    Market Moved
    from bandwidth
    Cannnot Find quote
    Quote Not Discovered

To be exact I go registered only after the last 3 months... July 13th, rather than BUY my software clicked SELL (this is actually the definition of the news spike trading).

The humorous thing is that FXCM advertises themselves as the superior news trading brokerthey enhanced their platform to encourage one click orders (auto clicker software friendly) however they neglect to executed the orders.

Don't waste your time with FXCM if you only trade the news spike.

Fxcm either fill me at a different price during news or don't fill me whatsoever. I remember the fantastic old times when fxcm platform was slow to respond during news. I see a news spike on MT4 like 6 minutes later on FXCM.

We had a debate about this some time ago: https://www.forexforum.co.za/trading...le-system.html

at greatest is only another word for a market order. In case you dont understand this, the most valuable thing you can for the trading eduion would be to find it out.

I know Damien who posted this message about FXCM and news trading. We both have FXCM live platforms and I totally agree with his words. I had been talking with Deutsch Bank who inform me that FXCM do not actually provide as much money as themselves. A huge part of news trading is having the ability to get in faster than the rest. The longer it takes you to execute your order news times, the more probable chances are that you will 1. Get dropped or, two. Not get an entry.

As individual traders we are up against huge organizations using platforms such as Currenex which DO let you deal direct with the banks and'm sure they get data the split second it is outside or sooner. Trouble is you need a minimum of $50K to open an account with them. I am mashed here at BC, Canada with limited brokers available to me. I just opened an account with IFC Markets. Only add a couple of hundred bucks to test the platform.

FXCM inform me over and over that'price does not exist.' In some ways it must need to trigger spikes. But, we are to receive our orders in quicker than the rest. If we fail, we cannot tap into the bandwidth we need at news releases that generally dries up.

Anyone have other comments please? Be good to hear of a broker that's working out well for news trading please.

    Thanks

    Andy

In my humble opinion, trading (with any broker) through news releases is one certain means to wipe out your trading capital. I've learnt my lesson with different brokers and now I enter a trade a minimum 15 minutes after major news releases.
Frequently I also exchange daily retracements and break-outs on currencies such as USDCAD GBPJPY as well as the results have been very good also.

To utilize At best would be to execute immediately. Without at best, you will struggle with the implementation.
