💼 What Is a Forex Introducing Broker (IB)? My 3-Year Experience and Real Benefits
Hi everyone, I’m an Introducing Broker (IB) and have been in this line of work for over three years now. A lot of friends have messaged me asking: “What exactly do you do?” or “Can you really make money as an IB?” So today, I’d like to share what a trading agent does and some of my real experiences in this business.
🔍 So, What Does an IB Actually Do?
Simply put, an Introducing Broker helps a trading platform refer clients. When someone signs up, opens an account, and starts trading through your referral link, the platform gives you a commission (rebate) based on their trading volume.
It’s kind of like being a middleman — you don’t touch client funds or make trades yourself, which makes it very safe and straightforward.
If the broker is regulated and offers a wide range of products — such as US stocks, crude oil, gold, and forex — then it's much easier to promote and onboard clients, even if you're just starting out.
📌 For example:
I introduced a friend to a broker (let’s call it Platform A) to trade gold. Every trade he places generates a small spread or commission. The platform shares part of that with me. As long as he keeps trading, I keep earning passive income.
🧠 How Did I Get Started?
At first, I was just a regular trader, often sharing market updates and strategies in trading groups. One day, a broker manager reached out and told me I could apply to be an IB — just by referring others, I could earn money.
I started learning how to promote: writing trade journals, posting on forums, running WeChat groups, and building simple communities. Step by step, I went from having just a few friends trading to managing dozens of active clients. Now I have a small but stable client base that trades regularly.
✅ What Are the Benefits of Being an IB?
Stable and Growing Income
As long as your clients trade, you keep earning commissions — it’s true passive income.
You Don’t Need to Trade or Risk Your Own Capital
Even if you don’t place trades yourself, you can still earn from your clients' activity.
Time Freedom and Flexibility
You can run this as a side hustle or full-time. As long as you have a phone and internet, you can work from anywhere.
It Gets Easier Over Time
When you serve your early clients well, they’ll often refer others. Your network — and income — starts to grow like a snowball.
⚠️ A Word of Caution
Not every broker is worth promoting.
When I first started, I worked with a few brokers that didn’t pay commissions on time or had a poor reputation. Clients would trade once or twice and leave. Now I only partner with regulated brokers that offer stable systems, transparent commission tracking, and good customer service. It builds trust with clients — and peace of mind for me.
🤝 Interested in Becoming an IB?
If you’re trading already, or looking for a side income stream, becoming an IB could be a great option. I’m happy to share the platforms I work with, the tools I use, and how I manage my client relationships.
You don’t need to be an expert or a market wizard. If you’re willing to learn and know how to communicate with people, you’ve already got what it takes to start.
Feel free to DM me or leave a comment if you’re curious about this journey.
Being an IB won’t make you rich overnight — but it can be a long-term, low-cost, scalable way to build income.
