Thread: Has anyone else had trouble with the hidden negative swaps?

Hello everyone. I open this thread to comment on something that seems quite serious to me. Lately I have noticed that some brokers are applying negative swaps even when you maintain a position in favor of interest. In theory it should be positive or neutral, right? I have noticed this by reviewing in detail the daily reports and it seems to me a silent scam.

For more information: the broker is regulated by the CySEC, and I dont want to give names at the moment, but you know where the shots are going. If anyone else has noticed this, I would appreciate it if you shared it. Im already appreciating changing broker, but first I would like to know if its something more widespread.

This has been going on for years, it's not new. They sell you low spreads and no commissions, but they nail you with the swap. Welcome to the wonderful world of "creative brokerage".

The same thing happened to me with a British broker. They applied negative swaps even in long AUDJPY positions, when in theory they should pay you to keep them. When I claimed, they told me it was internal liquidity adjustment. Pure smoke.

Thanks for opening this thread, I thought I was the only crazy guy who checks the swaps. It's very easy to overlook them, but in the long run they bleed your bill.

And what do you expect? If you operate with 1:1000 leverage brokers and get an iPhone on your own, then dont be surprised when they charge you for breathing.

Exactly! Swap is the perfect trap because you dont see it until its late. I made myself a spreadsheet and every week I manually check if it matches what I should. Spoiler: It almost never matches.

What bothers most is the opacity. They have not even the decency to explain clearly where the charge comes from. Technical support only repeats copied phrases from a manual.

Watch out for that, because there are brokers who update the swap daily without notice and it depends on the liquidity provider. Ive seen differences of up to 3 pips in the swap overnight overnight.

And the ones who charge you swap even if you close the operation just before the rollover? Thats overdoing it. Literally they charge you for doing nothing.
