I would never sign up with a brokerage that does not have support people. If you leave a message and no one contacts you....run!

Open an account with one of the brokers mentioned here on this forum instead. Also, investigate each broker by figuring out if they have customer service that are available throughout trading hours.

This does not sound like an issue with the broker. The problem probably occurred at the bank level, possibly the customer's bank or the broker's bank. Broker would love to accept the money as rapidly as possible as far as the customer. And hotspot is a well-known broker probably a better option compared to all brokers sponsored by this forum.

I concur about bank mistakes when wiring funds. When wiring money to my broker, the funds have been routed through 3 separate electronic destinations before establishing in my account. Lots of room for error, beginning with the form my bank fills out. One digit off any entry and my money is in limbo till I trace it.
Good point, Good. The brokers expect eventually keeping every cent they ship them. They are anxious also.

Yet another thing: Depending on where you live and where your broker is loed, you may have to wire directly from an account that you have, rather than just wiring cash from Western Union etc.. I suggest doing this even if it is not a requirement. If there is an error, it is easier to resolve it through the regional bank where you have an account holder.

I'm getting the impression Hotspot is a bit like IB - a solid broker, but sub-par customer care. Emails or phone-calls should be a matter of course.
