Thread: Suitable ECN Broker for 1million plus Account Size

    Hi Everybody,

Interested in hearing from people who have expertise with FX accounts at the 1,000,000 range. I am looking for a new brokerage who can fill my orders a lot faster then my current broker is. My entries are market orders, my exits are limit orders. Spread and commission don't matter to me, I am on the lookout for quality business that's trading in enormous volumes. I'm not inclined to disclose my current account balance, trading egy or brokerage in this thread. I am looking for new alternatives to enlarge my account farther.

I would really like to see a list of possible brokerages(rather that encourage MT4) that may manage this volume of cash without order waits. I'm experiencing partial fills when I exit(limit orders) my trades, in addition to my market orders are taking around 20 seconds to execute when I input.

Any links or advice would be greatly appreciated, and I will research thoroughly.

Take care friend, in today's world where even futures account holders who's brokers are required to mark to market everyday, keep separate segregated accounts and don't have lost their money.

My accounts are already segregated. I am more interested in hearing what my choices are. If you have any suggestions, please add to the conversation.

So basically, the issue isn't which is the right brokerage for me, but the question is Which is the correct Exchange for me. You want to find out which exchange is the right one for you. If one exchange isn't sufficient, there is the possiblity to aggregate multiple exchanges collectively. Another...
1mil probably isn't sufficient to start with any tier 1 bank. In my store, it wouldn't be adequate, normally has to be 10-20mil prior to being considered. Tho is dependent on if you desire the full prime brokerage bundle.

But if you do go down a path using a bank, I wouldn't recommend DB autobahn, for somebody who wants to utilize MT4, you are going to be more confused using an interbank platform, as an example, how do you need to enter the trade? With citi you've got different execution methods such as Dagger-8 or dagger-7, BNPP have execution methods named after weird reptilian creatures, such as iguana etc..

Simplest bank platform I have employed is JPM. Tho, I truly doubt 1mil would be sufficient.

Ultimately, you would be amazed on the pricing, having a connection with one bank really doesn't provide great pricing (ask if you would like additional details on this), but basically, to get decent interbank spreads you want a PB, then a line to each of the other banks/ECNs so you can sweep BB/BOs from all over the market.

TL;DR - do not go with a bank.

Thanks Aws1962, by the sound of this you've worked or operate on a working desk team? Are you suggesting I avoid Banks till the 10mil~ range? If that's the case, if you could suggest a few leads for me to the 1mil to 10mil range I would greatly appreciate it. I do have a fulltime developer working for me that will bridge MT4 into just about any platform so I have a small bit of flexibility .

    Thanks for your input.

I'm not Sales and trading for FX, I had been a market maker in interest rate swaps a couple of years ago tho. But, now I'm an FX egist.

My personal recommendation (as no bank would take you yet) would be to seem to BBGs ECN (tradebook). It's quite great, and last time I checked there is almost no requirement to exchange with them.

(also, I think it would be very Tough to bridge bank platforms to MT4, it would take a lot of hours and cost a fuck-ton)
