Why do foreign exchange pairs vary in their nomenclature?I see pairs like USD/CAD and USD/CHF, but why is Aud/USD and not vice versa, USD/AU?I ask why Interactive Brokers has different minimums according to the currency. For example, the USD has a minimum of 26K, but the AU has a minimum of 36k.I can operate 26K in USD/CAD, but I need to operate 36K in Aud/USD.

Here you have the explanation: Aud/usd = 0.73773 ? USD/aud = 1/0.73773 = 1.3553 - 1 = 36 usd/cad = 1.28918 - 1 = 0.29 (those are the latest tickmill bid prices for these two pairs

Currency pairs follow an established convention decades ago to facilitate market standardization. Some currencies, such as the euro, the pound and the Australian dollar, have priority over the US dollar in the price. It is not a whim, it is simply the way the global market was organized. If you find it confusing, it is best to read about the history of the currency market and how these standards were formed. It is not something you can change, so it is better to adapt and understand it instead of questioning it without meaning.

Basically, the order of currency pairs is based on historical norms and market conventions. The US dollar is not always the main currency in the price, and this depends on the global relevance and use of each currency. If you seek to operate efficiently, rather than worry about the names of the peers, focus on understanding their volatility, correlations and technical behavior. That is what really matters to earn money.

There is no hidden motive or a conspiracy behind the nomenclature of currency pairs.Simply, contribution standards were created to maintain coherence in financial markets. If it affects you that a broker has different requirements according to the currency, then maybe you should consider another broker. It makes no sense to complicate for something that you cannot change.

The Currency Pares Convention is not based on arbitrary preferences, but on the relative importance of each currency in international trade.Coins such as the euro and the sterling pound usually lead the price, while the US dollar sometimes remains as currency quoted in certain peers. If you operate without even understanding why the pairs are organized in this way, you might take time to learn the basics before risking money in the market.

The Forex market has its rules, and one of them is the way in which the currency pairs are named. It doesn't matter if it seems logical or not, that's how it works. If you are worried about the minimums that your broker demands, then you may have to look for another that best suits your strategy. There are many options available.

The nomenclature of currency pairs is not a subject of personal preference. It was established to standardize operations and avoid confusion. If IB has different minimums according to the currency, it is probably due to the liquidity and perceived risk of each currency. It's not something you can change, so simply adapt.
Forex's nomenclature rules are based on the priority of certain currencies over others, according to their historical importance and stability. It is not an arbitrary issue, nor is it related to the minimums required by brokers. If it bothers you that the AU has a greater minimum, you may consider operating another pair that best suits your account. In the end, what matters is the strategy and not the name of the torque.

It seems that you are more concerned about the way in which the pairs are written than to learn to operate them correctly. It doesn't matter if it's Aud/USD or USD/Aud, what you really should ask yourself is how to take advantage of your market behavior.Do not get entangled in unimportant details. The money is earned by understanding market dynamics, not debating the nomenclature of the peers.

If you look good, you will see that the pairs follow an established order based on the importance of coins in the global market. It is not a decision of the brokers or a random issue.Instead of asking you why the pairs are organized in a certain way, ask yourself how you can take advantage of that structure. There is the true value of the information.

There are more important things than worrying in trading than the way in which the peers are written. If this bothers you so much, maybe Forex is not for you.In this market, what matters is strategy, psychology and risk management. The names of the pairs are the least.
If you want a technical response, here you have it: the contribution convention follows a standard in which certain currencies dominate over others, and that is what defines the order of the pair.If you want a practical answer, here you also have it: do not waste time with this and focus on operating well.

The currency market is based on norms and conventions that have been working for decades. It doesn't matter if you think more logical than the aud/USD is called USD/AU, because that is not the way the market works. If IB has different rules for each currency, it is because each currency has different levels of liquidity and risk. That is something you should investigate before operating.

The reason why certain pairs are written in one way and not because there is an international standard that follows to avoid confusion in financial markets. If the minimums of IB affect you so much, maybe you should look for another broker that best suits your capital. There are always options.

If you still wonder why the pairs have a certain order, then you need to study more about how Forex works. It is a market with defined rules, and changing the name of a couple is not one of the available options.Better invest your time to learn about risk management and technical analysis, because that will help you earn money.
This is not a market problem, it is a problem of understanding. The currency pairs are appointed following a convention that facilitates the global operation. It is not something that Ib or any broker has invented. If you really want to improve as a trader, worry more about understanding how the price moves and less for details without relevance.

Currency pairs are not organized at random, there is an established convention. In general, the euro, the sterling pound, the Australian dollar and the Neozylelands go first in the price before the US dollar. The important thing here is not the name of the pair, but to understand their behavior and how you can operate with it.If a broker has different minimums according to the currency, then look for one that best suits your operation.

Interesting question, although the answer is simple: the peers follow a historical convention to facilitate contributions globally. If you want to complicate with this, go ahead. But I assure you that the market is not going to stop to change the rules for you.
For those who operate a long time ago, this type of questions only shows that some want to look for three feet to the cat instead of learning what really matters. The order of the pairs does not influence anything in your operation. If you lose money in Forex, it will not be because a couple is called Aud/USD instead of USD/Aud.

I think the question itself is poorly raised. It's not why it is Aud/USD instead of USD/AU, but how you can take advantage of that pair.Worry more about strategies and less about the structure of names. If the price goes up or down, it doesn't matter what the pair is called.

The Currency Pares Convention follows a logic established by international markets. There is nothing you can do to change it.Instead of worrying about this, you should be studying technical analysis and risk management. That will make you make money.
Your broker has different minimums for each currency because each currency has different liquidity and volatility. It has nothing to do with how pairs are written. If that affects you in your operation, check the conditions of other brokers. It is that simple.
This is a basic issue that any trader should know. The pairs are organized following a standard, and period. If you don't like it, bad luck. There is no debate here, only acceptance and adaptation.

Complaining about how currency pairs are written is like complaining about why the sun rises in the east and not the west.Things are as they are, not as you would like them to be.Adapt or dedicate yourself to something else.
The priority in the nomenclature of the currency pairs makes sense if you study the history of the market. It is not something arbitrary. The problem is that many come to operate without having read or the most basic about Forex. Then they are surprised when they lose money.

If you keep questioning meaningless things instead of improving your strategy, the market will probably get you before you can understand why you lost.Focus on the important. The way in which the pairs are written does not affect anything if you know how to operate correctly.
