If you see it as another tool and not as a complete strategy, it may be useful. But do not expect it to work in all types of market without adjustments.
Thanks for all the shared information, although it seems that this system has limitations.Has any of you found a way to make it more robust in side markets?
Side markets are the Achilles heel of any trend monitoring system. My recommendation is to use a range filter, such as ADX, to avoid operations when there is not enough directional force. It is not infallible, but it will help you reduce failed entries.
I have been testing the system in a 1 hour time frame, and it has worked quite well in EUR/USD during strong trends. However, false breaks are a problem.
It is normal in low time frames that false breaks are more common.Try to combine the EMA of 14 with an additional filter, as a slower mobile average (50 or 100 periods
Has anyone tried the system in markets as raw materials or indices?I am curious to see how it behaves with more volatile instruments.
Raw materials and indices usually have more volatility than foreign exchange pairs, which can cause the system to behave erratically.100 pip stops may not be enough to withstand fast movements.Maybe you should test with broader Stops and adjust the input rules for those markets.
Hello everyone, sorry for my absence.I have reviewed this system again after some months of inactivity.I have made some modifications, such as adding the ADX to avoid side markets and use the 4 -hour time frame as an additional filter. It has given me better results so far.I will continue testing this updated version, and I will publish the results if someone is interested.Greetings.
Good that you are back with modifications. The ADX is a good idea, but be careful to overload the system with indicators. If you keep adding filters, you could lose the good signs along with the bad ones.
