Thread: Informed of FX of the NFA

  1. #1
Good evening to all ... I'm at the NFA site at [http://www.nfa.futures.org/complianc...xreporting.aspival/Fxreporting.asp

I think what you are showing is the monthly report of the CFTC.Here you have the right link: [http://www.cftc.gov/marketreports/fi...fcms/index.htm]zz

Thanks for the link, but it is not exactly what I was looking for.The CFTC report is useful, but I remember seeing something more specific than the NFA.Maybe I'm imagining it, but I would swear it was a weekly file.I will keep looking, but if someone else has seen it before, I would appreciate it to tell me.You can't have disappeared from nothing!

I am also looking for that weekly spreadsheet, but I can't find it anywhere. It seems that it has disappeared or moved it somewhat dark from the NFA site.If you find it, please share it here.It would be useful for many of us that we are tracking this data.

I will do that.It is frustrating when you know something existed and suddenly disappears.Or maybe I'm just not looking good, but I already checked almost all pages of the site.Anyway, if I find it, I will publish it here so that everyone has it at hand. Thanks for patience!

If it is the report of open positions and customer funds what you are looking for, I think what you have seen is in the NFA regulatory compliance section, but they no longer update it as often as before.Transparency seems to have declined a bit in recent years.I would not be surprised that there are changes in the way they publish this data.

It seems that you are right. If they no longer update with the same frequency, it would make sense that it is more difficult to find.Anyway, it would be useful if they clarified that on their website. It is sad to see that transparency is being reduced.I wish they publish these reports again.

Another option is to contact the NFA directly.Sometimes they respond to information requests if you write directly asking for specific data.It may not be the fastest solution, but at least you will get a clear response on the availability of those reports.

Good idea.I will try that, although I doubt you get a quick answer.Anyway, I don't lose anything to try.Let's see if they manage to clarify whether these reports are still available or if there is a new way of accessing them.

I have had to communicate with the NFA before, and although they take a bit, they usually respond. They may take you seriously if you mention that reports are useful for transparency and retail traders.I hope they answer you and give you a good solution.Keep us informed if you have any news.
